LAHORE: A sessions court on Wednesday acquitted the daughter of PML-N’s MPA Shahjahan of the murder charge of their teenage domestic servant as all the witnesses of the case stood resiled.

The prosecution had presented three witnesses during the trial who later changed their stance leading to the acquittal of suspect Fauzia.

Akbari Gate police had registered a case against Fauzia for killing domestic worker Akhtar with torture.

The suspect was never arrested by the police as she had secured pre-arrest bail. She had denied the murder allegation and claimed the servant had died of illness whereas the prosecution pleaded that he died of torture as multiple marks of wounds were found on his body. The police had recovered his body from a sack at the house of the MPA.
