LAHORE: Serbian coach Lazar Gojkovic, who is in Lahore these days to conduct a basketball training camp, has praised the peace-loving people and atmosphere of Pakistan.

“I am really enjoying my stay in Lahore; the people of Lahore are peaceful and the atmosphere here is fantastic,” Gojkovic said while addressing a press conference alongside secretary of the Pakistan Basketball Federation Khalid Bashir and Anees Sheikh, Sports Director Punjab, here on Wednesday.

“The craze shown by Pakistan’s basketball players here is also amazing. The country possesses the talent to excel at international level, provided the players get tough competitions,” the Serbian coach underlined.

Meanwhile welcoming Gojkovic to Pakistan, Khalid hoped the Serbian coach would enjoy his time in Lahore while at the same time the local basketball players under his coaching would hone their skills.

Speaking on the occasion, Anees said Sports Board Punjab had provided every facility possible to the Pakistan Basketball Federation for conduct the course, by Gojkovic, in a befitting manner.

“The six-day course would help Pakistan players and coaches to learn finer points of the game,” Anees said.
