SUKKUR: Employees of the district council Sukkur held a protest and sit-in outside the main gate of the council office on Wednesday against non-payment of salaries as well as against the accountant.

They raised slogans in favour of their demands led by Abdul Majeed Jiskani, Tariq Hussain Solangi, Sadaqat Ali Zangejo, Mushahid Hussain Palh, Jameel Ahmed Dayo and others.

The protesters alleged that accountant in the DC office, was illegally and without any justification making deductions between Rs5,000 and Rs8,000 from the salaries of the employees.

They warned of staging a strong protest if the accountant was not transferred from the present post within a week.
