MANSEHRA: A joint team of police and health department on Saturday sealed a factory and arrested four persons while producing desi (pure) ghee from the fats of animals and chemicals here.

The head of police assistance line, Amjad Khan, and officials of health department on a tip-off raided houses in Lari Adda area and seized huge quantity of substandard ghee and butter and arrested four suspects, who were identified as Laiq Zada, Roghan Shah, Wazir Shah and Sajjad Ali.

Mr Khan told reporters that the arrested suspects were making desi ghee from remains of animals and chemicals which were highly injurious to human health.

He said that an FIR was lodged against the arrested fraudsters under section 3/4 of CrPc. He said that preliminary investigation from arrested suspects revealed that they were part of an inter-provincial gang of fraudsters who were involved in fleecing people in the name of preparing pure ghee, honey and such other products.

The police officer said that those arrested would be produced before local magistrate for physical remand.
