TOBA TEK SINGH: The district council passed a unanimous resolution against district education authority’s chief executive officer, alleging that he had collected bribe from teachers for appointments and transfers.

It alleged that CEO Syed Waheeduddin Shah even demanded bribe from the teachers who had applied for grant of leaves.

The house expressed concern over his alleged suspected activities as he stayed in the office till late in the night. The resolution demanded Shah’s immediate transfer.

The resolution was presented by Vice Chairman Irfan Azam Sipra in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman Akhtar Abbas Kirmani on Thursday.

In another resolution, the house demanded the government allow the UC chairmen to spend the budget money and to approve more development grant for UCs.

TWO DIE: Two persons died and 12 others injured in three accidents in the district.

A bus killed a six-year-old girl at village Bahar Shah in Pirmahal.

Laiba Waris was playing outside her home near Pirmahal-Multan road when the bus ran her over.

A man died and two others were injured in a collision between two motorcycles on Rajana-Pirmahal road near Zakirabad. The deceased was identified as Nazar Pahlwan of Zakirabad while injured Safdar and Hakam belonged to Pirmahal.

A bus overturned on Pirmahal-Shorkot Cantonment Road near Chak Noorpur, injuring 10 passengers.
