MANSEHRA: A young boy has alleged four influential people of Battagram tortured and sexually assaulted him before uploading his nude film clip on the internet earlier this month.

The resident of the remote Sorgahy Biyar village in Allai tehsil told reporters here on Wednesday that the suspects, three of whom were in the police’s custody, suspected him of having an affair with one of their female family members.

He claimed the main suspect had fled to Saudi Arabia.

The boy claimed he kept silent as the suspects had given him death threats but decided to report the incident to the police for action after his nude film clip went viral.

He demanded the early arrest of the main suspect through the Interpol and exemplary punishment for all suspects.

Sorgahy Biyar village council member Nadir Said, who was also in attendance, said the suspects were very influential people and therefore, the police were reluctant to act against them.

He complained that he conveyed his fear about the main suspect fleeing abroad to the police but the latter didn’t pay heed.

Seeks Interpol’s role for early arrest of main suspect in Saudi Arabia

The councillor said the main suspect was threatening the boy and his family with ‘dire consequences’ over the telephone from abroad for approaching the police.

He demanded that the main suspect be brought back through the Interpol for strict legal action.

SHO SUSPENDED: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Nasir Durrani on Wednesday suspended an SHO and eight personnel of Mansehra police for not wearing helmets and jackets during the recent security alert.

Jamal Zeb, a spokesman for the provincial police department, said the suspended officials included city police station SHO Mohammad Arshad and constables Mohammad Rashid, Waheed Shah, Ali Rehman, Mohammad Rafiq, Mohammad Saleem, Mohammad Safdar, Mohammad Ashraf and Arshad Khan.

He said district police officer Ahsan Saifullah had also suspended Pulrah police station assistant sub-inspectors Mohammad Ajmal and Shaheen Akbar for the same reason.

The spokesman said internal inquiry had been launched against the suspended officials.

EXPIRED DRUGS SEIZED: The health department on Wednesday confiscated a huge quantity of expired Indian and unregistered medicines, arrested their supplier in Oghi and got an FIR registered against them for action.

Drug inspector Tauseef Mohammad told reporters here that a team of the department had launched a crackdown on those dealing in spurious, expired, unregistered and Indian drugs in Mansehra and Oghi bazaars and thus, endangering the people’s life.

He said the arrested man, Abdul Sami, allegedly supplied Indian medicines to Mansehra, Balakot and Oghi, and that all seized Indian medicines had expired.

The drug inspector said the team also seized veterinary medicines of the government stock sold in private shops in Oghi.
