The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari announced that the party will hold a rally on Thursday.
Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, Bhutto-Zardari said: "PPP rally from Lahore to Faisalabad tomorrow. Your show is over Nawaz."
Bilawal had earlier tweeted that the PPP would begin its grassroots campaign with the rally.
The development comes days after PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari left Pakistan for Dubai where he spent a few days before travelling to the United States.
Zardari, upon his return to Pakistan from an 18-month, self-imposed exile, announced that both he and his son, Bilawal, would be contesting by-polls for seats in the National Assembly to be part of "this Parliament".
An informed source earlier told Dawn that Asif Ali Zardari was president of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPP-P) and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari patron-in-chief of the PPP as per the list of political parties enlisted with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
He said the PPP-P had been allotted the symbol of ‘arrow’ and the PPP ‘two swords’ by the ECP prior to the 2013 general elections. And now the two leaders are required to contest the polls from the platforms of their respective political parties under separate election symbols.
The PPP had formed a separate entity, PPP-P, in August 2002 to meet the requirements of a decree issued by the then military ruler.
A law was framed to bar Benazir Bhutto from holding a party office and the new political entity was a bid to avert the imminent threat of losing the chance of contesting the elections.

Dear young Bilawal , now a days politics is not merely based on slogans or past legacy , people observe performance and that too very minutely, so mere speeches and oratory will not work this time , you must show some good in governance of Sindh and then come to Punjab to show your performance.

Not that I am a fan of Nawaz Sharif, but I will be highly amazed if BBZ could gather more than 100 people from general public in Lahore. BBZ is so far away from reality and needs to get out of his mansion in Bahria Town more often.

Mr. Bilawal ZARDARI is living in a fools paradise, PPP is all but dead in Pakistan, except for extremely poor rural areas of Sindh, where the people are kept uneducated so the Zardari family can continue robbing. PPP has been in power FIVE times in Sindh, and rural Sindh is more poor than Sub-Saharan Africa. Time has come to through PPP in the dustbin of history.

It takes months of preparations for you (Bilawal) and 3,500 well armed policemen including many in plain clothes even to travel within your very own home town in Larkana, how would you manage in wide open Lahore-Faisalabad areas? You need armoured castle on wheels which would take years in construction and tests of invisibilities.

If Bilawal is able to get 25 to 35 National Assembly seats from combined Central and South Punjab, then PPP will be able to comfortably form the federal govt otherwise it is very difficult situation. PTI doesn't have such edge because of the meagre seat winning vote of it in Baluchistan and Sindh.

Here we go again, after losing elections, PPP is back making promises again and telling PML-N their show is over, we must be getting close to elections again. Hello Bilawal, wasn't it PPP who had the last term? Please remind us what exactly you accomplished as a ruling party that made Pakistani's feel proud? Other than engulfed in corruption cases, nothing was accomplished, the fact is, PPP and PML-N take turns robbing the people of Pakistan of their right to live a decent life while you live in palaces guarded by thousands of policemen.

Why not spend some time solving peoples problem, traffic jams in Karachi, illegal parking issues in Karachi, Shortage of clean water supply in Karachi and suburbs, Landhi and Korangi. Children dying in Tharparker due to lack of medical facilities. Time to do some productive work in Sindh, before dreaming of power in whole of Pakistan. People are not fools, they can see who is worthy of leadership or who is full of it.

We all know why Zaradri wants to go back to National assembly and what is his intentions for Bilwal. I think Bilawal needs at least 10 more years to graduate from the school of Pakistani politics. We have enough of PPP and how much corruption PPP have done in Pakistan we all know that. Very simple example look at Province Sindh where PPP is in govt a tleast 30 years.
