MANSEHRA: At least 17 personnel of Frontier Constabulary sustained injures when a truck carrying them crashed into a tree here on Sunday. The personnel were being deputed for security of polio teams in Mansehra. The incident, according to official sources, occurred after brakes of the truck failed and it rammed into tree on the Mansehra-Oghi road.

The local people rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in Mansehra.

According to doctors three of the critically injured persons were referred to Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad.

A spokesman of Frontier Constabulary in Oghi told reporters that FC men were on way to Mansehra for security duty of polio teams, but their truck met an accident. He said that the three-day anti-polio drive was about to start from Monday (today).

He confirmed that three of the critically injured personnel had been referred to Ayub Medical Complex.
