While Donald Trump won the November presidential election in the US, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by almost 3m ballots. However, according to certified counts, Clinton lost Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan — three key states — by about 80,000 votes, giving Trump the Electoral College majority.
