TOBA TEK SINGH: Lawyers elected their representatives for district bar associations (DBAs) across Punjab on Saturday.

Toba Tek Singh lawyers elected Chaudhry Irshad Ahmad president, Syed Abbas Hussain vice-president, Mubasher Ali Dogar general-secretary, Shahid Mahmood joint secretary, Sardar Ajaib Khan finance secretary and Najamul Hasan librarian.

MIANWALI: Ijaz Khan Gauhar, Lateefullah Khan Azad and Shahid Masood Khan were elected president, vice-president and general secretary of the Mianwali DBA.

GUJRAT: Sabir Ali Cheema was elected president, Irfan Banth general secretary, Arjumand Shahezad Butt vice-president and Mehr Ihsan finance secretary of the Gujrat DBA.

BAHAWALPUR: Muhammad Usman Farooq and Mian Rehan Muhammad Khan Mitroo were elected president and general secretary of the Bahawalpur bar. Other elected candidates are: vice-president Rana Aamir Sarwar, joint secretary Hafiz Niaz Ahmed, finance secretary Syed Anwarul Haq Shah, library secretary Abdul Saboor Saqib and auditor Khalid Mehmood Abbasi.

SHEIKHUPURA: The Sheikhupura bar elected Mian Saeed president and Mian Liaqat Ali general secretary (unopposed), whereas the Nankana Sahib bar would be represented by president Rai Akram Bhatti and general secretary Rai Qasim Mushtaq Kharal.

CHINIOT: The Chiniot bar’s president for 2017-18 will be Syed Azhar Hussain, vice-president Muhammad Nawaz Kharal, finance secretary Afia Zahoor (unopposed), general secretory Farman Ali Shah, joint secretary Anwar Dhamna and library secretary Rana Imran.

KASUR: Malik Riaz Ahmed was elected president and Mian Munawar Hayat general secretary.

SAHIWAL: Ch Muhammad Anwar and Ch Usman were elected president and general secretary.

JHANG: The Jhnag bar elected Mehr Muneer Sadhana president, AD Sandrana general secretary and Naeem Aslam vice-president.

OKARA: Syed Zahid Abbas Bukhari won elections for the president office, Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem senior vice-president, Shamshad Ahmad Khan vice-president, Rai Iqrar Hussain Kharl general secretary, Chaudhry Faheem Javeed joint secretary, Shahnaz Manzoor finance secretary and Sheikh Muhammad Asghar Saqi library secretary.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Ehsan Karim Merani was elected president while Fahim Saeed Changwani was elected general secretary.

SARGODHA: Rao Fazalur Rehman with his panel won bar offices. Akbar Bhatti was elected vice-president, Wasim Salim Dogar general secretary and Waqas Riaz joint secretary.
