KARACHI: Lahore Shah Jamal Greens overpowered Lahore Spartanz by 15 runs in their Northern Zone encounter of the 18th National Seniors Cup Cricket Tournament at the Shah Faisal Ground in Lahore.

Put into bat, Lahore Shah Jamal Greens posted a healthy 266-5 in the allotted 30 overs after major contributions from opener Irfan Suleman (53), Mohammad Nadeem (90)and Azeem Aslam (70) off 59 balls.

Lahore Spartanz got off a sensational start as openers Zaheer Iqbal (79) and Tahir Saeed (89) added 127 for the first wicket but Lahore Shah Jamal Greens bounced back through medium-pacer Imran Haider (3-30) and off-spinner Alamgir Hussain (2-33) as they restricted their opponents to 251-8.
