LAHORE: A three-day bridal couture week featuring extravagant collections by various designers opened at a local hotel here on Friday.

The Hum Bridal Couture Week 2016 claims to present the best of Pakistani bridal trends by leading and burgeoning fashion designers. The show is being choreographed by former supermodel Vaneeza Ahmed Ali.

The first half of day one was opened by Mehdi featuring his collection titled ‘The Royal Courtyard Couture 2017’ encapsulating the beauty of a royal diva by reinterpreting and modernising time-treasured classics. This was followed by HEM’s ‘Shahi Muhalla’ depicting the Mughal era.

FAS Design Studio were next with their collection ‘Mehram’ -- a portrayal of purity of love and charm of beauty inspired by freedom of nature. Up next was ‘Chaap Tilak’ by MNR Design Studio. Show one concluded with Zonia Anwaar’s festive collection titled ‘Daria’i Noor’.

The second half of the day started with ‘Imperial Voyage’ by Ivy Couture by Shazia and Sehr, which was followed by Ayesha Imran’s Afsana-i-Ishq. The concluded with Sobia Nazir’s latest bridal collection titled ‘The Mahal’.

Furthermore, there were star showstoppers and power-packed performances as well with film star Resham adding grandeur to HEM’s collection while the charming Imran Abbas show-stopped for FAS Design Studio. Soch the Band performed on the ramp for MNR Design Studio with actress Mawra Hocane walking along.

Dancer and choreographer Wahab Shah presented a special performance, while the stunning Iman Ali and singer Ali Sethi walked for Ivy Couture.
