GWADAR: Two of the civilians who were injured during an overnight attack on coastguards in Jiwani town of Gwadar district succumbed to their injuries on Monday.

“The death toll in last night’s targeted killing has increased to four,” said Barkat Hussain Khosa, the Gwadar police chief, adding that injured Muhammad Sabir died in the district hospital and the other man in Karachi where he had been sent for treatment because of his precarious condition.

He said a case had been registered by Jiwani police and two suspected militants had been picked up.

A spokesman for the banned Baloch Liberation Army, Jeehand Baloch, claimed responsibility for the attack in an email message sent to the media.
