PESHAWAR: Abid Saeed, a BS-22 officer of the secretariat group, on Friday assumed charge as the new chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A statement issued from the establishment department said that in pursuance of the notification issued by the federal establishment division, Mr Abid Saeed assumed the charge of the post of chief secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday afternoon.

The seat had fallen vacant after the services of Mr Amjad Ali Khan were repatriated to the federal government earlier on Sept 20.

Additional chief secretary KP Mohammad Azam Khan was given additional charge of the chief secretary.

Mr Saeed, an officer of the 8th Common Training Programme, was currently serving as federal secretary to the Kashmir affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan ministry.
