KARACHI: Four Iranian naval ships — Lavan, Konarak, Falakhen and Khanjar — were welcomed at the port here for a three-day visit on Tuesday.

The visiting ships were received by officials from the Pakistan Navy and Iranian diplomats.

During the trip, officers of the Iranian Navy will hold professional discussions and interactions with their counterparts in the Pakistan Navy on subjects of mutual interest.

Operational training activities, exchange of visits by naval personnel and sports activities have also been planned.

After their stay in Karachi, a passage exercise or PASSEX will be conducted at sea to improve interoperability between the two navies.
