Jail chemistry

POLITICS isn’t a bed of roses. The treacherous winds of this past often overwhelm politicians and land them behind bars. Notable world leaders have faced prison hardships. Nelson Mandela once described prison as a test of one’s commitment.

Pakistan’s former Presidents who hails from Sindh, or the newly-elected Mayor of Karachi, share this trait in common. Having served a long term of imprisonment as a politician, he stunned this nation after ascending to the presidential office. The elected mayor has also emerged triumphant from the prison to become Karachi’s chief executive.
