LAHORE: The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) also decides to file a reference with the Election Commission of Pakistan for the disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif under Articles 62 and 63.
PAT legal adviser Ishtiaq Chaudhry said here on Sunday the party would move the ECP against the prime minister for failing to give a satisfactory response to Panama Leaks and concealing his income and assets in the documents submitted to the ECP while contesting the 2013 elections.
He said the prime minister did not remain ameen (trustworthy) and sadiq (truthful) and was thus disqualified to be a member of parliament.
The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has already filed a reference against the prime minister through its candidate, Dr Yasmin Rashid, who had contested the election against Mr Sharif in 2013.
AITKAF: The PAT says it has completed arrangements for Aitkaf of 20,000 people.
Khurram Gandapur, administrator of Minhajul Quran, sister organisation of the PAT, says 20,000 faithful including 6,000 women from across the country had been registered for aitkaf.
He said the facility has been divided into 15 blocs -- each comprising 500 circles (40 people in each circle). He said PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri would daily speak to the faithful after Taraveeh prayers.
He demanded that keeping in view the hot and humid weather conditions, the government should declare Aitkaf City loadshedding-free although the party had arranged generators to ensure round-the-clock power supply.
