RAWALPINDI: Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif on Thursday emphasised Pakistan’s resolve and determination to confront the global phenomenon of terrorism and extremism.

He was explaining international and regional security environment during his address to a gathering at the Command and Staff College Quetta, according to an ISPR press release.

“No other military of the world has been able to synergise effects as much as Pak Army could do singlehandedly. I am rightly proud of commanding this dynamic and resolute force,” he said.

Dilating on the effects of Operation Zarb-i-Azb, the COAS explained how “we had transited from hardcore kinetic operations to intelligence-based operations and now combing operations”.

Highlighting his vision of conclusion of operations for peace and stability in Pakistan, he said that the armed forces “are not there yet, and have more work to do to achieve our final objective of a fully peace-ful and prosperous Pakistan”.
