LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited on Sunday the residence of former premier Yousuf Raza Gilani here and congratulated him on the return of his son Ali Haider.

Shahbaz Sharif said the safe return of Ali Haider after three years had brought happiness for the Gilani family. He said Haider’s return was a very good news. He also hugged Haider.

Earlier, the family of slain governor Salmaan Taseer visited the Gilani family.

Shahbaz Taseer, who was also released from the clutches of militants after four years, hugged Haider Gilani and congratulated him and his family members. “Miracles do indeed happen,” Shahbaz Taseer said.

The chief minister had not visited the Taseers when Shahbaz Taseer was recovered safely a few months ago.

Haider Gilani was recovered in a joint operation by the US-Afghan forces in Afghanistan on Tuesday last.
