KARACHI: A girl in the Pirabad area was arrested after she set her father on fire for what she said was the rape of her younger and older sisters, police said on Sunday.

In a statement to the police, the girl said she made the plan to set her father on fire after he attempted to rape her.

In a First-Information Report, her brother alleged that his sister drugged their father with sleeping pills on Friday and set him on fire, after which he succumbed to his injuries, Superintendent Police (SP) Investigation Akhtar Farooq said.

A case was registered against the accused under sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 334 (punishment for intention to cause hurt) of the Pakistan Penal CodeThe accused was taken into custody and is being held at the Women Police Station West Zone Liaquatabad Karachi, the SP said.
