Pakistan Day to be celebrated at UN

NEW YORK: Pakistan Day will be celebrated at the United Nations for the first time with a concert planned in the prestigious General Assembly hall on March 23.

Organised by the Pakistan Mission to the UN, the concert will feature Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

The concert, appropriately titled Sufi Night: Music of Peace, is aimed at spreading the message of peace and harmony at the world stage.

During an hour and a half long performance, Rahat Fateh Ali will sing his popular songs which already have worldwide familiarity.

Ambassador to the UN Dr Maleeha Lodhi said the concert is an effort to project Pakistan’s soft image and present the country’s rich culture. “Public diplomacy is the most effective way to win hearts and minds” and this programme aims to do just that.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has repeatedly urged Pakistan envoys to actively engage in public diplomacy.

Pakistan's Image has surely enhanced owing to PML N good performance and strong stance on many issues. Even India surrenered for Pakistani team and gave public guarantee. The Govt has really pused Pakistan to new heights. we were lost and now again we are rising. Thanks PML N for all the efforts you have made despite being maligned with false evidenced and fake document sometime by Aleem Khan and sometimes through PTI. But your performance is now praised worldwide. The decision you made to Appoint Raheel as Chief is also praised by opposition now. Your decision making is wonderful and brought revolution in real in Pakistan. Tough stance on terrorism is also one hallmark for PML N

If they really want to present the soft image... than why they dont arrange a panel discussion to hightlight what we actually are.. they can clarify to all misconfussions which west have... insstead of such stupid music nightss... wht they will achieve with it... just waste of national money...
