GHALANAI: Mohmand Agency Political Agent Mehmood Aslam Wazir has said every effort will be made to administer polio vaccine to each child in the region during the anti-polio campaign starting today (Monday).

Speaking at a ceremony held to inaugurate the anti-polio drive here on Sunday, he said the campaign would be conducted in all eight tehsils of the tribal agency. “There is no no-go area in Mohmand Agency,” he claimed. He said the administration had provided foolproof security to polio teams.

Agency Surgeon Dr Raza Ullah said 94,000 children under the age of five would be vaccinated in Mohmand Agency during the drive. He said about 362 mobile, 39 fixed and eight transit teams had been set up to carry out door-to-door campaign. He said 92 supervisors were also appointed to make the campaign a success.

“A single case has not been reported in the entire agency during the past three years and all the stakeholders are fully cooperating the health department in the polio campaign” Raza Ullah said.
