Valentine's day? Were there no Islamic days left to celebrate?
This is true power of the West: media. Europeans (and their decendents in US) can and have successfully formed public perception.

@Khwarezmi Let me ask you an honest question.......Why do you want to BAN LOVE. Here in the west we do not see this as SAINT VALENTINES DAY= THE PERSON........But we see this as VALENTINES DAY = The Idea! The Idea that considering the busy schedules of most people in modern society, they can go to their love ones, and do something really special for them. What is so sinful about that??? Considering Pakistan seems to have a dysfunction of not wanting to even celebrate one special day of love.

@Khwarezmi : Celebrating anything harmless is good even if it comes from another culture. I myself don't celebrate it even though I am married but I am fully supportive of it even if it is not part of Indian culture. if you think about Valentine day - all people are doing is expressing love, buying gifts and flowers to loved ones, going out for dinner or going for a day trip. Since when any of these things are not part of Hindu or Muslim culture?

@cat not celebrating a valentine day means ban on love? why not to express love with those mothers who keep on waiting their children and those sisters who await their brothers to be polite to them and express their care.what about loving those kids who are left by their parents cuz of the financial issues and hence left their education? So, we must love everyone instead of celebrating only one day love which definitely seems to be superficial and yields nothing but passing time!
