Theft from parcels

Published February 11, 2016

ON Dec 26 last my sister booked a suitcase (trolley bag) and some cartons in Rawalpindi for Karachi through a courier service via receipt No 905 2347807, containing personal items and gifts while coming back from a pleasure trip to avoid excess baggage. When the consignment reached Karachi, everybody was shocked to see that all the valuable gifts and personal items were not there in the trolley bag. However, the cartons were intact and nothing was missing.

The matter was immediately taken up with courier service authorities. First, they promised to look into it but have now refused to do anything, saying that it is not their responsibility.

It may be mentioned that this family is using this courier service between Karachi and Lahore for shipment of personal items and no complaint is ever received but there are instances of missing items when they are booked through the Rawalpindi office.

Will some senior officials of the courier service care to look into the matter?
