SUKKUR: The Progressive Panel beat the Democratic Journalists Alliance to win the Sukkur Press Club elections on Thursday.

The panel candidate for president, Jan Muhammad Mahar, obtained 114 votes against his rival Mumtaz Bokhari’s 26. The other candidates, all belonging to the panel, elected were: Jameel Mughal, vice president 109; Shahid Ali, general secretary, 109, Aijaz Chijjan, joint secretary, 108, Shahzad Tabani, treasurer, 108, and Mujeeb Rind, office secretary, 114 votes.
