The 972nd three-day Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh began in Lahore on Tuesday after Punjab Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Ata Muhammad Maneka and Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar laid wreath on the shrine, [Dawn newspaper reported][2].

The devotional activities started with recitation from the Holy Quran and Na’at. After laying the wreath, dua was offered for the solidarity and security of the country and success of operation Zarb-i-Azb. A milk sabeel was also inaugurated.

Data - Sahib was a great Sufi scholar. Though pictures shown here are beautiful but, I am sure he would not approve the activities conducted at his shrine.

Ali Hajveri Data Ganj Baksh (RA) was a great Sufi. He received appreciation from Moin ud Din Chishti Ajmiri. However, no body can prove that he practiced or allowed dhamal like activities.

Unfortunately few in Pakistan have read Kashf-ul Mahjoob. The revelation of the veiled; Kashf-ul-Mahjoob also known as Kashf-ul-Majoob is one of the most well respected and revered Persian treatise on Sufism which details system of Sufism its doctrines and practices.
