ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Central Asian states want to benefit from the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and they have expressed desire to link themselves with it.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Medibank Trust at the Presidency, he said that construction of a 502km road had been completed under the project, adding that there would be no change in the corridor’s route.

The Medibank Trust provides free medicines and consultation to poor patients in hospitals and medical camps and through other arrangements.

The president praised Medibank for extending its services to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. He expressed the hope that international welfare institutions would cooperate with the Trust. Overseas Pakistanis were taking interest in the project, he said and urged Pakistan’s diplomatic missions to join the cause of Medibank.

He advised the Medibank Trust to maintain liaison with the Benazir Income Support Programme and Baitul Maal to provide medical assistance to maximum number of needy patients.

Patron-in-Chief of the Medibank Trust Javaid Nisar Syed also spoke on the occasion.
