LONDON: British authorities are enforcing a no-fly zone over Prince William and his wife Kate’s country home for security reasons.

The move, which comes into force on Nov 1, prohibits planes and drones flying below 2,000 feet within a circular area 1.5 miles across over Amner Hall, located on Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham country estate in eastern England.

In a legal document explaining the move, the Department of Transport said the restrictions came at the request of the security services. William, Kate and their children George and Charlotte spend much of their time at Anmer Hall, a secluded 10-bedroom mansion. Similar regulations have been imposed over Sandringham to cover the winter weeks when the queen resides there.
