TOBA TEK SINGH: A man impersonating an executive district officer on Saturday swindled Rs26,000 from two heads of special education schools through Easypaisa transactions.

An official said a man introducing himself as community development EDO Saeed Ahmad Dhillon made calls to seven heads of government special education schools of the district.

The man asked them to be present on duty on Oct 5 along with all staff as he would accompany an international NGO team, the Punjab special education director and foreign media persons to their institutions.

He also asked them to transfer him money for the arrangements through Easypaisa. Two of the heads transferred Rs26,000 to the suspect while others verified the information from the office of the community development EDO. In the meantime, the fraudster managed to get away with the amount.

Both the heads have informed police who are getting data of mobile phone SIM the suspect used for the fraud.
