World community urged to take notice of Indian firing at LoC

MIRPUR (AJK): AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed called upon the international community on Thursday to take notice of growing incidents of unprovoked firing by Indian troops in areas along the Line of Control (Loc) and the Working Boundary. Otherwise, he cautioned, the situation could lead to confrontation.

The AJK leader was addressing the foundation-stone laying ceremony of Rs6 billion Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Medical College in Mirpur.

He said that people of Azad Kashmir were grateful to the government, people and the armed forces of Pakistan for unequivocally supporting Kashmiris’ legitimate right to self-determination at all forums at home and abroad. He praised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for raising the demand for an early and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue in line with the resolutions of the United Nations.

The prime minister said his government had launched an integrated plan for promoting higher education in various professional disciplines.
