RAWALPINDI: Two convicts involved in murder cases unconnected to terrorist activities will be executed at the district jail in Jhelum on Wednesday, police sources have said.

Following the dismissal of mercy appeals by both convicts; their death warrants were issued by the concerned court.

Zahoor Hussain Shah, a Jhelum resident, was arrested for his involved in a murder case registered with the police since 1992, while Arshad Mehmood was arrested by Jhelum police for involved in a murder case from 2005.

The convicts’ family members held their final meetings with the convicts in the district jail on Tuesday.

Both men will be executed at the jail on Wednesday, after which their bodies will be handed over to their families.
