NEW YORK: Republican front-runner Donald Trump has been attacking Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton with low blows and attacks bordering on “libel,” in particular denigrating Mrs Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin and her husband Anthony Weiner.

Speaking to a crowd outside Norwood, Massachusetts, Trump hit Mrs Clinton and lodged multiple attacks on Abedin, saying the aide should not have had access to the kind of information she did while Clinton was secretary of state. He also chastised Weiner, calling him a “perv”, a newspaper report said.

Most Democrats here believe that Trump’s attack on Huma Abedin come from his apparent bias against Muslims. “There is no other reason for him to take on Huma Abedin. She has not done anything to incite his attacks”.

Ms Abedin started working for Clinton while she was an undergraduate at George Washington University and Clinton was First Lady. She went on to work for Clinton’s Senate office and her 2008 presidential campaign and followed her to this one. She’s a constant presence at Clinton’s side; Clinton has likened Abedin to the second daughter she never had.
