SIALKOT: Federal Defence Minister Khwaja Muhammad Asif has asked India to end blame game and come forward with a fresh mind for peace talks.

Talking to reporters and party workers at the PML-N House here on Sunday, he said the old blame game had been started against Pakistan after movements of separation were growing rapidly in India.

The minister said that Pakistan always wanted to establish a durable peace with its neighbours, including India. He said India should show sincerity in peace talks and end the old tactics of leveling false allegations against Pakistan. He said Pakistan was ready to make confidence building measures with India.

Mr Asif said Pakistan was committed to making peace efforts at all levels and armed forces were playing their role in uprooting militancy, insurgency and terrorism from the country.

He said the whole nation stood united against terrorism and was ready to render every sacrifice for defending the country.

The minister expressed solidarity with the people living in border villages who were facing hostilities of Indian Border Security Forces (BSF).

He said that MQM chief Altaf Hussain was not a loyal Pakistani as he had openly sought help from India.

BREACH: Three breaches occurred in Nullah Aik near Nagor village, Ladhar and Sialkot on Sunday as peak of 9,500 cusecs of floodwater passed through there as against the total capacity of 5,000 cusecs, inundating seasonal crops in wide areas.

Two breaches were also occurred in Nullah Aik near Ballagun village (Sambrial) and Bhopalwala.

DCO Dr Asif Tufail said breaches were being plugged and that the flood situation was under control.

He said there was a medium flood in the river Chenab at Head Marala and in the river Tavi.

He said the water level was soaring in all rivers and seasonal nullahs due to a fresh spell of heavy rains in the Sialkot region and catchment areas in neighbouring occupied Jammu and Kashmir.''
