The cat is back in form. Indian socialite and writer Shohbaa De has put a dampener on the recent Salman Khan box-office smasher Bajrangi Bhaijaan by saying that the film is an attempt at making Sallu mian look good and as an ‘ambassador of peace’ so that he could be kept of out jail (the reference is to the actor’s hit-and-run case).
This has clearly irked the makers of the film and its director Kabir Khan has hit back at Shobhaa D (well, not quite) with the statement: “I appreciate a critique on my film not an aspersion on my character.” Boy o boy ... the woman, for sure, hits it where it hurts the most.

Recently was on vacation in Canada recently, and some relatives pleaded with me to go with them to watch Bajrangi Bhaijaan even though I'm not a fan of Bollywood movies. As expected, the movie was sadly and disappointingly anti-Pakistan; overly depicting Hinduism as the world's most benevolent faith while making out Pakistanis and Muslims as brutal and inhumane with the exception of the little girl who played Shahida.
I'm extremely unnerved that our government which believes strongly in freedom of expression and a free media while banning You Tube is permitting this movie to be shown in Pakistan while Bin Roye - a harmlessly benign Pakistani movie is banned in India ... and Bin Roye is not even anti-Indian!
