LAHORE: A four-month Chinese language course for the faculty, students and technical staff begun at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, on Tuesday.
UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid inaugurated the course at a ceremony at the Department of Humanities.
He said that being an emerging global economy, China has many opportunities to offer to graduates to enhance their technical, vocational, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills in engineering, social sciences, business, and modern technology.
“Pakistani students who cannot afford to study in the modern West, China offers them an alternative of high standard professional expertise which is definitely a need of the present time,” he said.
Dean Prof Dr Ghulam Abbas Anjum, chairmen of teaching departments, students and a large number of employees also attended the ceremony.
