THIS is apropos the editorial “No end to ‘encounters’” (July 21) wherein the operational tactics of our law enforcement agencies have been criticised.
The truth is that hundreds and thousands of innocent civilians have lost their lives in acts of terrorism and criminal activities.
Moreover, militants do not welcome law enforcement officials with garlands but with indiscriminate heavy firing with automatic weapons. So what would be the solution to the problem under such circumstances if not the encounters?
