TAXILA: The departmental inquiry committee has found an employee of population welfare department guilty of selling USAID donated medicines in the market and initiated disciplinary action.
The employee was caught red-handed selling birth control medicines to private clinics and hospitals on June 15.
He was sent behind bars after a case was registered against him but later released on bail. The committee completed its investigation on Tuesday and found him guilty.
When contacted, District Officer Population Welfare Shireen Sukhun confirmed that the “watchman was involved in selling medicines after stealing them from population welfare office. She denied the involvement of other officials in the scam.
