ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday strongly condemned the suicide car bombing that took place in Afghanistan’s Khost province on July 12.

Earlier on July 12, over 20 people were killed and six wounded in a suicide car bomb attack near a military base in Afghanistan's eastern province of Khost, where Afghan and foreign soldiers are stationed.

"Our deepest sympathies and condolences go to the families of the victims. The government and people of Pakistan share the grief and sorrow of their Afghan brothers, and stand in full solidarity with them," Foreign Office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah said.

"Pakistan reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Such acts are deplorable and cannot be tolerated under any circumstances,” Qazi said.

Qazi further stated that terrorism is a common enemy of both Pakistan and Afghanistan that has afflicted the whole region. He added that the government is confident that the two countries will be able to root out this menace through coordinated measures.
