GWADAR: A convoy of security forces escaped a bomb attack between Dang and Kogudan areas near Turbat in Kech district on Saturday.

Official sources said that suspected militants planted a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) along the road and detonated it when the convoy reached there.

But the blast failed to cause any casualty or damage to vehicles, the sources said.

Security forces cordoned off the area, mounted a search for the perpetrators of the attack and arrested a large number of suspects.

Those arrested were handed over to authorities concerned for interrogation.
