ISLAMABAD: The final phase of the coaching camps for special athletes commenced on Wednesday at various centers across the country in preparation for the forthcoming Special Olympics World Games, scheduled to be held in Los Angeles from July 25.

Tennis, basketball, swimming, cycling and football camps are being held at Karachi while power-lifting camp is organised at at Lahore. The camps for athletics, badminton are being held at Islamabad while the table tennis camp is set up at Wah Cantt. Most of the camps are being held in afternoon and evening sessions.

Arshad Javed, the National Sports Director of Special Olympics Pakistan (SOP), who will also accompany the contingent to Los Angles, expressed his complete satisfaction over the coaching and grooming process of special athletes. Pakistan contingent will leave for Los Angeles on July 21.
