LAHORE: The Pakistan Railways (PR) will run 23 special trains for the benefit of about 30,000 people wishing to spend Eidul Fitr in their hometowns.

A meeting of senior officials held at the PR headquarters here on Sunday decided that the department would begin its Eid operations on July 11. The meeting was presided over by Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.

The meeting decided that from July 11 to July 16, one special train will be leaving Karachi for Lahore each day, and vice versa.

On July 15, one train will be leaving Quetta for Rawalpindi and one will go from Karachi to Peshawar.

On July 17, one train will be leaving Rawalpindi for Multan and one will go from Peshawar to Lahore.

On July 20, one train will leave Multan for Karachi.

From July 20 to July 22, one train will leave Karachi for Lahore each day, and vice versa.
