KARACHI: At least 10 suspected terrorists were killed late on Tuesday when Sindh Rangers conducted an intelligence-based operation in Karachi's Manghopir area and Super Highway near Kathor, an official press release said.

Acting on a tip-off, the Rangers carried out an operation on Super Highway near Kathor in which two paramilitary personnel were also injured.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, as soon as Rangers' personnel reached the site, the terrorists opened fire at them. Rangers returned fire at the suspected terrorists, killing two.

As the paramilitary force pursued other suspected terrorists who had managed to flee, four more suspected terrorists were killed and two Rangers personnel were injured in the cross-fire that ensued.

Four more suspected terrorists were killed in a Rangers encounter in Mangophir area.

Rangers recovered ammunition, explosives and a suicide vest from the possession of the suspected terrorists.
