QUETTA: More than 70 suspects were arrested on Friday in an operation conducted by personnel of law-enforcement and intelligence agencies.

The action was taken after Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti announced that such an operation would be carried out in and around Quetta.

Personnel of the Frontier Corps, Levies and police took part in the operation conducted in Killi Qambrani and adjoining areas early in the morning.

During the search of some houses a number of suspects were picked up, a security official said, adding that two of the suspects belonged to a banned organisation and they were involved in incidents of killing in Quetta and other areas. The two were handed over to authorities concerned for interrogation.

Meanwhile, the Frontier Corps troops arrested two suspected people from Loralai area.
