KARACHI: A scintillating century partnership between Hamza Ghanchi and Babar Hussain Agha propelled Pakistan Navy to a comfortable seven-wicket victory against Hinopak Motors in the final-round fixture of the 20th Hinopak Trophy KCCA Inter-departmental Cricket League here on Friday

After dismissing Hinopak Motors for 225 in the Group ‘B’ match at KCCA Stadium, Navy — who were the runners-up in the previous edition of the popular departmental competition — sailed to their target in just 30 overs.

Daniyal Mansoor scored a breezy 84 from 91 balls with the aid of nine boundaries, opener Farrukh Rizvi struck three fours in making 43 and Mustafa Ali made 33 (five fours) as Hinopak Motors were dismissed at the start of the 48th over.

Navy then rode on the 157-run stand for second wicket shared by opener Hamza (55, five fours and two sixes) and Babar, who blasted 11 boundaries and a six in his 87, to reach 227-3 and win with no less than 20 overs to spare.

Also making a significant impact on the result was Owais Ahmed Rehmani who bludgeoned 69 off only 44 deliveries with the aid of seven fours and five sixes.

Summarised scores:

HINOPAK MOTORS 225 in 47.1 overs (Daniyal Mansoor 84, Farrukh Rizvi 43, Mustafa Ali 33; Mohammad Waqas 2-16, Raza-ul-Hasan 2-38, Fawad Khan 2-38); PAKISTAN NAVY 227-3 in 30 overs (Babar Hussain Aga 87, Owais Ahmed Rehmani 69, Hamza Ghanchi 55).
