LAHORE: Four people, including a minor girl, were injured when the basement of an under-construction building collapsed in Sabzazar on Monday.

According to police, labourer Manzoor, 45, was residing with his family in the basement of an under-construction building at Liaquat Chowk. They said the family was asleep when the roof of the basement caved in and four people were trapped in the debris.

A rescue team reached the spot and after hectic efforts recovered the injured who were identified as Manzoor, his daughter Mariyam, 10, son Usman, 12, and 35-year-old brother Shehzad. They were shifted to Jinnah Hospital where the condition of Manzoor and Shehzad was said to be critical and the minors were stable.
