MQM to welcome Imran in Karachi: Altaf

KARACHI: In what appears to be an attempt to lower political temperature in the city, Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said his party will welcome Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan in Karachi.
He also congratulated in advance the PTI chairman for his party’s public meeting to be held in Azizabad on April 19 in connection with the April 23 by-election on a National Assembly seat (NA-246).

Speaking from London to workers and supporters of his party who had gathered at the MQM’s election camp at the Jinnah ground on Tuesday night, Mr Hussain asked the PTI to maintain the sanctity of a martyrs’ monument, Yadgar-i-Shuhada-i-Haq, in the ground during their function. He said the MQM candidate would emerge victorious in the by-election.

This welcome message is indirectly an acknowledgement of Imran Khan's courage and boldness to face MQM in its stronghold. IK should now build on this momentum which has provided the much needed inertia for his campaign. He should not let any stone unturned for this bye-election. This victory, it it happens and it might, will not onlygiven PTI one seat, but the entire Karachi's vote bank!
