SHEIKHUPURA: An old man was shot dead during a scuffle in the Rayanpura area on Monday.

After the incident, the family and relatives of Shah Muhammad, held a protest on GT Road, blocking it for traffic for about two hours.

Tufail Shah, a contractor, was supervising work in an under-construction street which was blocked.

Meanwhile, two motorcyclists, including Shahbaz, tried to pass through the street and the contractor forbade them to do so which led to a scuffle.

On hearing the noise, Shah Muhammad intervened and tried to stop the fight. During the argument, the motorcyclists got infuriated and shot Shah Muhammad dead.

The relatives of the victim and the area people came out on GT Road and suspended the traffic.

Muridke Saddar police restored traffic after giving the protesters an assurance that the suspects would be arrested.

BODY FOUND: The body of an unidentified man was recovered from a field adjacent to Chak Nigah.

Farooqabad Saddar police sent it for an autopsy.
