CHARSADDA: Three power pylons of 132kv transmission line were blown up in the limits of Nesata police station here in the wee hours of Thursday.

Police said that unknown miscreants fixed half a kilogramme of explosives with each of the three pylons near Kaptan Koroona on the night between Wednesday and Thursday and detonated them with a remote control device one after the other. As a result, all three pylons were destroyed, disconnecting the power supply to different areas of Charsadda.

However, the Pesco officials restored the power supply at 7:40am. The police later reached the spot and called the bomb disposal unit personnel, who said that 1.5 kilogrammes of explosives were used in the blasts.
