TOBA TEK SINGH: Scores of taxi drivers staged a protest on Wednesday at Shahbaz Sharif Chowk over removal of their vehicles from the taxi stand.

They set tyres on fire and blocked traffic on different roads for about an hour.

The clothes of one of the protesters, Abid Husain, caught fire and he received serious burn injuries. He was shifted to DHQ Hospital.

Later, City Station House Officer Sheikh Rizwan and TMA officials held talks with the protesters and promised to allot land for parking taxis over which they ended their protest.
