KARACHI: Corps Commander Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar on Wednesday conferred awards upon various military officers, junior commissioned officers and soldiers in a ceremony held at the Malir cantonment, says a press release.

On behalf of the president, the corps commander conferred awards on officials for their outstanding military service and gallantry action in operations.

According to the press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the recipients of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) are retired Brigadier Mohammad Rashid Butt, Brigadier Imranul Haq, Brigadier Mohammad Naseer Raja, Colonel Syed Afzal Haider Shah, Colonel Meer Khursheed Ali and Colonel Imran Asghar.

The recipients of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) are Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mumtaz Awan, Lt Col Arshad Iqbal, Lt Col Sher Mohammad, Lt Col Waqas Aslam Malik, Lt Col Arshad Munir Malik, Lt Col Mohammad Shahid Kamal, Lt Col Shahid Sultan, Lt Col Mohammad Afzal, Lt Col Rizwan Ahmed, Lt Col Hamid Afzal, Lt Col Nabi Bux, Lt Col Mufti Tausifur Rehman, Lt Col Kausar Habib, Lt Col Saeeda Naweed, Lt Col Zahid Hussain, Lt Col Ahmed Ali, Lt Col Ali Zaman, Lt Col Aamir Umar, Major Saeed Ahmed Jokhio, Major Ashraf Haider, Major Saif Riaz Chaddher, Major Ghulam Mustafa and Major Ashfaq Hussain Humayun.

The recipients of Tamgha-i-Basalat are Major Attaullah, Subedar Rasool Bux (Shaheed), Naib Subedar Naeem Akhtar (Shaheed), Lance Naik Abdul Rasheed (Shaheed), Lance Havildar Mohammad Anwar Khan (Shaheed), Sepoy Aftab Ahmed (Shaheed), Sepoy Faiz Mohammad (Shaheed), Sepoy Manzoor Ali (Shaheed), Sepoy Shan Mohammad (Shaheed), Craftsman Vehicle Mechanic Gulzar Ahmed (Shaheed), Craftsman Vehicle Mechanic Ashok Kumar (Shaheed), Sepoy Abdul Nabi (Shaheed), Sepoy Zafar Ali (Shaheed), Sepoy Shafi Mohammad Shah (Shaheed), Sepoy Wali Mohammad (Shaheed), Sepoy Ali Akhtar (Shaheed), Sepoy Allah Rakha (Shaheed), Sepoy Sabir Hussain (Shaheed), Sepoy Waqar Abbas (Shaheed), Unpaid Lance Naik Intikhab Alam, Sepoy Touqeer Abbas, Sepoy Mohammad Waseem Khan, Sepoy Mohammad Awais Qarni and Sepoy Fakhar Abbas.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior armed forces officers and relatives of the award winners.
